You can UP TO 10" wide wheels on a stock fender car and still be under the wheel well. The UP TO means if you have 17" or higher you can get a 10" rim under the car. On a 15" or 16" wheel a 9" - 9.5" rim will work. The reason is b/c of sidewall clearance. The UP TO also means that if you do not run a rear sway bar you can go wider than a car equiped with a rear bar. The rear bar is your next limiting factor as far as width goes. Solution - dual mount rear spring.
When a guy wants to run the largest tire and wheel combo on a 15 or 16 and run no rear bar, that is when we recommend the double offsets with the spring bolt hole moved in 1". A shorter rear spring is required.
The wheel well gaps are 11" wide from the frame to the fender lip. This could vary from car to car depending on how the body sits on the frame but generally this is what it is.
Tire size will also vary. For instance, some tire manufactures don't even list a 285 series tire. Before you order your tires you need to check what the Sectional Width is on a certain rims width to make sure that it will fit up under the wheel well. Skinny rims make the tires fatter. The larger the rim, the skinnier the tire gets. Another Example:
On a Michelin PS2 275/40/17 on a 9" wide rim you will have a sectional width of 10.9". The same tire on a 10" wide rim will have a sectional width of 10.2"
On a BFG Radial TA 295/50/15 on a 8" wide rim you will have a sectional width of 12.2". Same tire on a 9" rim will have a sectional width of 10.85". This will only leave you with a little over an 1/8" of clearance on both sides of the tire. Not good. A 9.5" wide rim would get you to roughly 10.13" and where you want to be.
You also want a tire that is going to keep you in the 26" range unless your going for a different look. You'll probably have to change your speedo in the trans at that point too.
Backspacing
5.5" is about the MAX you can get. I only know of 1 guy to use a 6" backspaced rim and I could hardly stick my pinky between the tire and the frame. 5.5" backspacing is good for 10" wide wheels in the 17" & up catagory. 9" rims are good with 5" of backspacing. 8" use 4" backspacing.

10.13" = 257mm. Sectionwidth måste väl vara bredden från sidewall till sidewall? Dvs. bredden däcket verkligen tar upp? Hur kan denna isf vara MINDRE än däckmönstrets bredd?
Däckmönstrets bredd var väl inte nämt ovan men det kan ju bero på följande.
Tread Width
The tread width is the distance between the outer edge and the inner edge of the tread of a new tire. However today's radial tires often feature tread designs that incorporate rounded shoulders and there is no industry standard pertaining to "how much" of the rounded shoulders should be included in the tread width measurement. Because of this, it is difficult to accurately compare the tread width differences of one tire brand to another. Tread width measurements are best used when comparing the various tire sizes or lines manufactured by a single tire manufacturer. Several tire manufacturers have chosen not to publish tread width dimensions.

Section Width
A tire's section width (also called "cross section width") is the measurement of the tire's width from its inner sidewall to its outer sidewall (excluding any protective ribs, decorations or raised letters) at the widest point. This measurement is made without any load placed upon the tire and after the tire has been properly mounted on its industry assigned measuring rim and has been inflated and reset to its test pressure after 24 hours.
Because a tire's section width is influenced by the width of the rim upon which the tire is mounted, the correct industry assigned measuring rim width for the tire size being measured must be used.
The width of a tire mounted on a narrow rim would be "narrower" than if the same tire was mounted on a wide rim. NOTE: because the overall diameter of a steel belted radial is determined by the steel belts, there is little, if any, change to the overall diameter of the tire due to differences in rim width.
The industry rule of thumb is that for every 1/2" change in rim width, the tire's section width will correspondingly change by approximately 2/10".
For example: a tire in the P205/60R15 size is measured on a 6.0" wide wheel and this size tire has an approved rim width range from 5.5" to 7.5" wide. The tire has a section width of 8.23" (209mm) when mounted on a 6.0" wide wheel. If that tire were mounted on all of the rims within its approved range, the tire's approximate section width would change as follows:

Because of the different wheel widths used in the above example, there is a 9/10" projected difference in tire section width when comparing a tire mounted on the narrowest rim to the widest rim within its range. This may affect fenderwell and frame clearances when selecting optional aftermarket wheel and tire packages

Ryggigt snyggt;) Du har bara breddare där bak va? Har fått för mig att det blir mysko om man inte har breddare fram, men det ser ju helt ok ut. Har du fler bilder i andra vinklar?
Gärna lite info om breddarna (antar att det är samma som jag kollat på?)... Har du monterat dem själv?

Detta för att avgöra hur breda däck jag kan få på. Jag tänkte beställa däck och flares samtidigt. Fälgarna fixar jag med rätt offset och bredd här hemma i svedala. Men däck och flares måste jag köpa på andra sidan...
